The
weather smiled on the Chamber's annual family mixer as scores
of members and friends of the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce enjoyed hot
dogs, hamburgers and maple creemees. Sunshine and good food were followed
by a wonderful ballgame as the Vermont Mountaineers pounded Keene to snap a
prolonged losing streak.
The annual family outing held at the Montpelier Recreation Field was sponsored
by the Northfield Savings Bank and arranged by the Chamber's leadership committee.
President Bob Lord Jr. served as master of ceremonies, awarding door prizes from
AAA of Northern New England, Wrightsville Beach, and the Vermont Ravens as well
as the Mountaineers. Winners were Kevin Lord, Bryan White, Cody Patno and Dorothy
Milne, who also won the 50-50 raffle.
Maple Creemees from Bragg Farm Sugarhouse and Morse Farm Sugarworks provided
a refreshing transition from cookout to ballgame. Mixer registration included
tickets to the Mountaineers game, and fans were treated to an 11-0 victory by
the home team that kept its playoff hopes alive.
