New
CV Chamber Blog
In addition to weekly columns in the Times Argus and World newspapers from
the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce executive vice president, the organization
has launched a semi-daily blog. Posted at cvregion.net/cvblog,
the goal is a brief post per day, each business day.
There is no telling the subject matter that will emerge
over time. So far, the terminology being used is "news,
information and commentary." That should cover about
everything.
The initial post was April 19. The posting announced
that Steve Gilman of Builder Specialties has been confirmed
as a Chamber vice president to succeed Bonny Downing
who encountered schedule conflicts.
Other posts comment on the Sabin's Pasture Act 250 application,
regionalization efforts, and the availability of community
event and workshop postings. The goal is to keep postings
very short.
The blog welcomes comments and subscribers. Check it

Doyle,
Monti-Scott win Chamber Raffle
The 27th time was a charm for Washington County Senator
Bill Doyle
who finally took home a share of the top prize in Central
Vermont Chamber of Commerce annual raffle.
A ticket holder every year since its inception in 1983,
Doyle decided not to tempt fate Wednesday night.
After brief discussion with fellow-semifinalist Roy Scott
of Vermont Fire Extinguisher, the two elected to split
both the $4,000 top prize and the $500 runner-up award.
Scott acted on behalf of his ticket's co-owner, former
Barre mayor and state representative Harry Monti. More... |

to Member Questionaire
Last month I asked about interest in a structured member-to-member discount program.
I received little feedback. Without more interest we will only continue to encourage
everyone to shop locally and shop Chamber members first! If you didn't get a
chance to respond, go to central-vt.com/news/memtomem.htm |
