Public schools As Different As region's Towns

The region's 23 towns vary dramatically in size and type. So do the schools they have created to serve their youth. Central Vermont's elementary schools are mostly small rural facilities serving a single town. Most high schools are larger and serve multi-town districts.

Barre Elementary & Middle School

Town elementary schools generally have 100 to 300 students. Most high schools have 400 to 900 students. A kindergarten through sixth grade curriculum is the most common elementary school structure, but there are others as well. More on schools and public education.

The Regional Technical and Vocational Center serves students from high schools throughout Central Vermont. The Center provides a "hands-on" approach to learning.
