The Martin Bridge crosses the Winooski River near Plainfield. It was built in 1890. Always a private bridge, it was named the Martin Bridge. The Orton family purchased the land. They built the Orton Barn, and it became known as the Orton Bridge. It is now called the Martin Bridge again. It temporarily sits on blocks in a meadow awaiting restoration.
