Who is Small Dog Electronics?
The Company
Small Dog Electronics is an Apple Specialist, one of the larger Apple resellers in the US. We specialize in all things Macintosh, including Apple refurbished products. We are a socially responsible company which means we have a multiple bottom line—the effect we have on our environment, community, customers and employees is just as important as maintaining our profitability.
We are located in Waitsfield, Vermont, not far from where the company was started out of Don Mayer’s house in 1994, and we currently have over forty employees and two retail stores. We are a varied group of people but we have one thing in common: we love Macs.

Under the leadership of father and son team Don and Hapy Mayer, co-owners of Small Dog Electronics, the social mission of the company has remained focused on multiple bottom lines. We believe that our effect on our community, environment, customers and employees is just as important as maintaining our profitability.

Small Dog aims to advance our social mission through charitable donations. We contribute over $10,000 to charitable causes either by directly matching customer contributions through our Charitable Contribution program or by in-kind donations.
Our employees also donate their time to local efforts, through various community service initiatives. We believe that it is imperative to strengthen the bonds within our community, and to facilitate a strong network of individuals and businesses.

Small Dog Electronics began its eWaste Initiative to educate consumers and help reduce the amount of computer and electronic waste being improperly discarded. For those who live in or near the northern Vermont area, Small Dog Electronics will recycle ewaste at each of our Retail Store locations, for 25¢ per pound.
